Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge – 27th September 2014.

Sarah Keyes and a group of friends – AKA ‘The Driffield Dream Team’ – took on the Three Peaks Challenge on 27th September 2014 to raise money for Abbie’s Fund.  A couple of the team have also been involved in other fund raising events for Abbie’s Fund and we are extremely grateful to each and every one of them for their support.

The weather was a mix of sunshine and rain and all of the elements which made for an interesting day and the team raised an amazing £3615.00 – WOW!

The money raised will help provide more memory boxes for Hull’s Women and Children’s hospital.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes in the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, climbing to heights of 1600m (5000ft).   It is a 24.5 mile walk that must be completed in 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
